The Society of Indiana Pioneers John H. Holliday Award is given to encourage the study of pioneer history by students in grades K-12. Up to two $1,000 awards are given annually to a history class, club, or similar entity sponsored by a school or not-for-profit educational organization.

John H. Holliday Award
Graduate Fellowship Awards
The Society of Indiana Pioneers Graduate Fellowship Awards are awarded annually to support research in the field of pioneer Indiana history for students completing their master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation.
Field Trip Grants
To encourage field trips related to early Indiana history, the Society annually awards up to ten $500 Field Trip Grants to school groups that would otherwise lack the means to travel.
Grants also are available for in-school activities – such as guest speakers, reenactments, and traveling exhibits – when off-campus trips are not possible or authorized by a school system.
Field Trip Directory
The Society has compiled a Field Trip Directory for educators to use.
If you have a suggestion for an Indiana pioneer time period site that is not listed, please send a note to office@indianapioneers.org. We’d be happy to add it to the list!
